Mistake #1: Franchisors under-deliver on their franchise website.
Most franchisors never realize that franchisee prospects will associate the level of establishment of their concept with the presentation of their website. Eight times out of ten a franchisee’s initial contact with your concept’s brand is on your website. You have 30 seconds, on average, to sell your franchisee prospect on whether or not they should even continue through your website to find detailed franchise information. Perception is reality and presentation is everything. If your website doesn’t match the creative intuition of your competitors or doesn’t meet the expectations of the individual you’re asking to pay your franchising fee, you’ll never even know they exist. Expectations are high in the franchising business; because you are trying to convince your prospect you know the business better than anyone else. If your website can’t deliver that, your prospect will find one that will and call their sales associate.
