A former restaurant owner and first-time franchisee, Mr. Mak plans to open five stores in the Phoenix area, the first by the end of 2006.City Wok closed five multi-unit deals over the past three months, yielding 23 new restaurants for the rapidly growing chain. Mr. Mak’s five-unit deal is the first outside of the chain’s California heritage market.
